This wasn’t part of the plan… but maybe it should’ve been.

A few months ago, I got a text from a pastor-friend of mine in Dallas.

He sent this photo below with a short note:

“Our team is going to take them to the prison ministry this week.”

A few weeks later, I got another text:

“My outreach guy just ordered another 10 books. Gonna give them to his new group Thursday as Father’s Day gifts.”

Then he floated the idea of me visiting the prison one week while they were reading Thrive together. That trip hasn’t happened yet—but what did happen was something I didn’t see coming.

We started talking about creating a study guide—something structured enough for prison pods or recovery programs, but flexible enough to be used in any small group walking through loss, shame, or spiritual transition.

At first, I wasn’t sure. But the more we talked, the more obvious it became.

📘 Introducing: The Thrive Project

Thrive was always meant to spark conversation.

But now, with the release of Thrive: A Study Guide, those conversations can be structured, intentional, and deeply transformative—whether they’re happening in a prison chapel, a church classroom, or around someone’s kitchen table.

Each Thrive Kit includes:

  • One copy of Thrive: From the Inside Out

  • One 10-week Study Guide

  • A simple format focused on gospel transformation—not self-help

🎧 All this AND an audiobook? Well, sort of.

Coming soon(ish): the Thrive audiobook… read by yours truly.

Just kidding—it’s a deep fake version of me. (AI is taking over the world.)

So far, it’s surprisingly decent.

If you’d like early access (or want to tell me “robots shouldn’t read books”), just contact us and I’ll add you to the list.

Thanks for walking with us through this.

This whole thing started with a simple text.

But maybe it was part of the plan all along.
